Re: Timing markings???

on the pully on top of the distributor, do you see to little nibs that line up when you turn the pully? One should be on the pully and one just below it that doesn't move. Get the motor at TDC on piston #1 and line those nibs up. Did you pull the whole fly wheel? I think you have to pull the while fly wheel with a special puller to get the new belt back on... let me know how it works out for you.

on the pulley to the distribtor I see two little things sticking out is that what you mean? also I see a little straight line half way thru the pulley what that? To get the piston to tdc do i need a dial indicator since the flywheel is already off??? I used a special tool thanks ALOT!! for your help

Re: Timing markings???

TDC is the point to where the number one piston reaches the closest to the spark plug hole and stops. I was able to view mine with a light to confirm. thosw two little nibs should line up and look a like. Mine has a arrow in the top that points directly to the fly wheel when it is lined up but don't count on that. then make sure you line your fly wheel back up when you put in on. Make sure your markings are back on TDC so that you can time it up later.

Re: Timing markings???

That I have no idea... on your little wheel over the distributor there is a bump on the outside of the pully. I think it is on the bottom part. line that bump up with the bump that looks similar just below it. Slide your belt on with the two bumps lined up as close as you can and you got it.
