Hi,
I have the Ford 302 with the timing pointer on the block. There must have originally been a tab on the crank with timing marks.... which is no longer there....just a slot where the tab/marks must have been. Any suggestions on getting this fixed?
thanks

I had the same problem and it took me along time to figure it out.
I bought a replacement timing tab from JEGS. It just bolts into the timing cover where the bolts are. Not sure if they selll one for your engine but search it and maybe you'll find it. you need to measure the diameter of the balancer.

Sebas, you have a Chevy, he has a Ford. Completely different.

The degrees are scribed in the vibration dampner. You may have to scrape the paint off the dampner to see the marks.

you could time it with a dial indcator and a lite set up although if your not sure or dont hve the tools it can be expensive
