yeah i know, im kinda wondering if im getting the added acceleration spark advance on top of the base timing setup.

I'm wondering how you can ask this question when in post #14 you state that you're getting 24* of total advance? Are you actually measuring the total advance?

Have you ever checked to see if the carburetor is opening fully when you push the throttle lever?

havent had a chance to check while cruising, i got the 24 degrees at 2500rpms in my driveway. i was expecting to get higher than 24 degrees which is why i made the thread, i didnt realize the v6 ecu was only supposed to advance 14 degrees, i was expecting it to advance another 20 degrees or so, also i have yet to find a timing chart for a thunderbolt v 4.3. ive only found thunderbolt iv for 4.3 - all the thunderbolt v charts are v8's - i wasnt sure initially what system i had as the engine doesnt have knock sensors so it was throwing me off

on another note, i went back to the basics with it, even though it was running smooth all the time, just underpowered/wouldnt rev out. and i pulled the plugs, found cyl 3 plug was really black and somehow the gap got messed up at some point, it was only about half of what it should have been. so i re-gapped all the plugs and also made the discovery that i had never replaced the wires after i bought it.... i was 100% sure i replaced them when i did the cap and rotor but apparently not. so i also replaced the wires. im splashing the boat one evening this week, (hopefully tomorrow) so i will get to test everything out then
