Hi - trying to find the timken bearing and race part #s for the upper bearing - oem 31-32573 -

Have this for gen1's" Bearing- Timken 09067, Race - Timken 09196,

Getting varying numbers online. Aren't the gen1 and 2's all the same part #? I mean actual bearing number, not mercs re-definition of the same thing.

Merc changed that bearing around 1997. Prior it was common with Alpha One.

For later Gen IIs, use Timken LM11949 and Timken LM11910

Chirs.......

thanks Chris! that lines up with the pics I found just hard to make out the numbers to be sure :)

This indicates the same part covers all the years or is this site incorrect?

On another note - what is the difference between the outer circlip yoke assembly and the old style with inner clips? The prices are through the roof! Short yoke for the gkn type is almost the same as the entire assembly for inner clip style! Bearings are almost double as well- just cheaper to replace the new with the old style -

The fact that they changed the design would point to an inherent problem with the original design or a supply issue.

Old design parts costing less than new would suggest supply issues with planned obsolesce, i.e. selling existing inventory at discount to unload
