I'm going to be taking a trip later this Summer to Tims Ford Lake, we are renting a house on the lake. The rental agent said the closest place to launch is at Lost Creek. Anyone familiar with the area, can you tell me where the Lost Creek ramp is? I can't seem to find it on a map or a Google search.

try mapquest - 315 Lost Creek Road
Lynchburg, TN 37352

you'll figure it out - the aerial image is also pretty good.

OBTW - we've had some rain and the lake level is up considerably. Lots of junk in the lake, but hopefully it will clean up by summer.

Thanks mcbay5, MapQuest is having some issues, but with Microsoft Virtual Earth I see it. It looks like you go over the cove in the lake and make a right on, ironically named "Boat Ramp Rd", is that correct?

I would like to take the tour, most people can't believe that it's in a dry county either.

as I thought, it is pretty obvious where you might go from Lost Creek Road to find the boat ramp....and you correctly broke the code!

Enjoy the lake - and the tour. You can buy special bottles of "the product" in Lynchburg, and just about anywhere in the surrounding counties.

Kind of like "buy this souvenir bottle and receive what's inside at no extra charge ;)

I think I can find that ramp no problem, we are renting a house that appears to be not far from there, on the water. I won't be there until August so I'm sure the water will be cleared up by then. Thanks again!

The Tims Ford water level is above 887 feet - approx. 7 feet higher than one year ago! (TVA's objective is 888) I haven't been up in the Lost Creek area recently, but can report the "big water" areas are pretty clean, while creeks still have a lot of junk in them. Water temp is generally slightly above 70 degrees.

I have never been up lost creek -- is that supposedly where there is a tunnel you go through and there is a slalom course on the other side?

I have a house rented on Tims Ford for 8 days in July! Can't wait!

Funny, sickwilly, we are renting a house for a week in August. Post a report of your trip once you get back and let me know what I need to check out.
