I don't know if this video or similar has floated around here before, but I think it should be mandatory for anyone learning to trailer. In fact, it's truly odd that you can simply go rent or buy a trailer and not have any training, but oh well.

I've been towing a while and I definitely learned some things. Well worth watching the whole thing, only 12 mins.

Looking to buy a 17' aluminum fishing boat. Best guess is I'll end up towing between 2,000-2,500# total. Single axle trailer from manufacturer does not have brakes. It's not even a factory option.

Curious what those of you pulling similar weight with an unbraked trailer are using safely and successfully?
I have a 16' Sylvan side console, with 40hp Merc OB around 2500# fully loaded. Pull it with my Jeep Cherokee V-6, 4400 rated tow capacity, no trailer brakes, no problem pulling or stopping!!! Also pull my enclosed trailer and SxS at 2800 lbs with no issues. Yes my Cherokee has a trailer towing pkg. Dont even know my boat is behind me unless I look in my mirror !!
