Tinn Coated Copper

How important is tinn plated copper wire for saltwater fishing boats? I use heat shrink on butt connectors,& terminal ends.

You should be using marine grade wire and connectors on a boat.

That means tinned, multistrand (high flexibility) wire.

You could use stiff, plain copper wire if you are willing to risk having it come apart at sea.
