Tiny Tach question.

I have been thinking about doing something to determine what prop size I need on my 4 horse. I found out about the tiny tach. But, everywhere I have read, they seem to mount, and stay mounted. But, is the tiny tach something that I could temporarily put on a motor, to test prop sizing, and then remove, and reinstall on a variety of other motors, for the same purpose?
What size engines would it be practical for? Could I put it on motors from 40 - 55, or is it limited to the 20 and smaller motors?

Re: Tiny Tach question.

Tiny tach can be used on virtually any spark ignition engine. It gets its sense pulse off a spark plug wire. Since a two stroke fires every rev, it doesn't make any difference how many cylinders the engine has or how big that engine is. You are using only one of the plug wires. Yes, you can temporarily mount it on the engine and remove it when done. Duct tape, zip ties, two sided tape, silicone, all will work.
