Tips on doing Impeller change?

I have a 93 force 40hp. I ordered a new water pump kit and would like any tips to make this job go eaiser for me. Any help would be great. Thanks

Get some beer and invite your friends over to help you move around the lower unit (thats why you need the beer..to bait your freinds help).

Seriously, just get an owners manual, be patient, and you should be fine. Its only new and scarey the first time you do it.

definetly have help to help you get the lower unit back on...it took me and a friend forever to get the drive shaft spline lined back up.

A Clymer repair manual will be of more help than either the friends or the beer.

On my 85 HP, I cut the heads off of 4 , 5" long bolts and put them in as guides and one piece of all thread to be able to put a nut on to help hold it in place once I got it up there. Made the job a lot easier.
