Re: Tire pressure

Yes, you may be wrong and are. Plus whether it be trailer tires or auto tire, the load decides the inflaton rate. Any trailer can have adaptations to the point of too many plys or too many load ranges. This is just another reason why load determines inflation. So, whether you all like it or not, you are wrong.

Sorry wbc. ST tires need the pressure for sidewall strength and to reduce flex.

Lets see, I bought 5 trailer tires last year, and 5 this year, every one of them had a sticker on it that said to run at max pressure listed on the sidewall. In addition, 4 of the tires were tires only, no rims. The shop mounted them, aired them up, documented the pressures on the work order next to a paragraph stating to run them at max pressure, then they made me sign affirming that I understood.

Re: Tire pressure

another thing to consider is that if you somehow feel the need to reduce tire pressure for a really light boat then the trailer and boat are not well matched to each other

Trailer tires should be run at the psi stated on the sidewalls,...
