Looking to see if anyone on here knows a cheaper source for tires online or otherwise. Here is SW MN the prices are wildly varying from place to place and none of them are great.

Wal-Mart 5.30-12 LRC - $60
Runnings 5.30-12 LRC - $55
Marine Store 5.30-12 LRC - $64
Tractor Supply Co 5.30-12 LRC - $58

Man this sucks, i bought the same size tire to replace the spare on my popup camper we had last year and it cost me like $30 for the same brand of tire. I assume the hike in tire prices is due to the cost in oil prices??

I need a pair of them for the boat trailer. I found one tire shop that would give me a $5 discount for buying a pair, but the tires were still $52 each.

Re: Tire Sources...

I checked out a bunch of places suggested here and by PM and finally went with the cheapest. $65 for a pair of tires, just needed tires not the wheels too as asked. This included shipping. Locally it would have cost me $55 a piece at the cheapest, so i saved some money just have to wait for the UPS truck to drop them off, i can wait a few days if i'm saving some money!

Thanks for all the suggestions!!

Re: Tire Sources...

I just bought replacements for my boat from Northern Hydraulic ( northertool.com ) locally for 32 a piece. Stopped in Menards the other day and found the same brand WITH rims for that price, though they were one load rating lower than the ones I bought. Would have been nice to get new rims that matched....

Around here all the stores, Runnings, Wal-Mart, etc, have LRB tires on new rims, both 4 and 5 hole patterns. But they only carry LRC as tires only, not mounted on rims. Not sure why that is..

Tires have been going up faster than other things the last 4 years expecally though the last year. In the summer of 2002 i bought 4 all terrain tires from wallmart there liberator brand in 225 70 14 they were $44.95 a tire flash foward to today they are now $70 as of a month or so ago, $5 of that price hike came in the last 6 months.

Rising oil prices...

As oil goes up petroleum based products, or those that use some petroleum in their creation, have increased in price greatly.
