Yeah, like about $100.00 per tire. I'm looking a the Goodyear Marathons.

On my Silverado I can run the curbs all day long and the curbs never reach the white letters, guess I have big tires!

I don't use tires on my truck. I use the Fred Flinstone method.

Of course the sides of my feet must be polished to a nice lustre before I leave for work.

Both can look great or horrible depending on the tire and the look of the rest of the vehicle. There's nothing worse than neglected white letters though. No self respecting driver would let their white letters get dirty - yet you see it all of the time. Worse yet you see these guys who don't even bother to wash the blue/green protective coating off their white letters! Some people have no pride...

This. The tire would be going on the alloy star rim.

http://www.championtrailers.com/rims.html

http://www.shop.com/op/~GoodYear_Aluminum_Modular_Wheels_215_75_R_14_White_letter_tire_B_Please_add_$10_00_to_these_GoodYear_Tires_for_oversized_-prod-14674552

When I got new tires for the mizze's Merc, I had them turn the whitewalls in. Looks like a cop car now. :D As far as the letters, my truck's are out and it has painted steel rims. Course, they're Michelins and if I'm gonna pay that much for a friggin tire, I'm gonna advertise it.

Sometimes I go over the white letters with a highlighter to make sure everybody can see 'em. But that's only when I'm feel exceptionally rich white honkeyish.

spots

Black on both sides for me.

At nearly a grand for 4 new tires and an alignment, I can't afford to part with any more sheckles to toot someone elses horn.

Besides without RWL I have less wind resistance and go faster :p

On certain vehicles ,like Rick's pickup, they look fine.On others ,not so fine.Since parting with my 72 Chevelle,my other rides are sleepers. They have the black sides out. It's really just like shoes for yourself. If you like em,go for it.

I will agree with those who say that the vehicle and wheels really make the difference a lot of the time. Most trucks to me look better with the raised whites, but only when the letters and tires are maintained well. Nothing worse than seeiing a nice raised letter tire with half the letters scraped beyond recognition.

That being said, I can be a little anal. I have been known to use a toothbrush on my tires. I now have a nice brush and use Meguires White Letter cleaner and it takes all the work out of it.

I've had raised white letters on every vehicle I've owned - from my '95 grand am to my Grand Cherokee.

The best thing that you can use to keep the whites clean is called Bleche White. Hit the tires with some Bleche which, dry off your vehicle. Then take a wire brush and the leftover soap suds from the bucket you used to clean your vehicle to clean the tires. A couple times around the tire with the brush - they will shine brighter than when they were new!!

Yeah, that Bleach White is good stuff. I spray it on the letters and let it sit on there while I wash the rest of the truck. By the time I get done with that, the letters look good as new after a rub down with a little soap and water...A little Tire Shine afterward really makes them stand out...
