Over the weekend we had a melt down, or should I say belt slip. Two year old Carsile tire had a belt slip and almost had a blow out. I replaced them both after being told that (sitting) is not good for them. Good news was I had the Org. owner go with me to the shop and the tires were Free!! It's not often you hear someone work with a customer with two year old anything!! so my next question is, Why not a high quality car/light truck tire, over made in China low quality trailer tire? the boat is only a 19' Four Winn bow rider, no major weight, the rim is 15' and the tire is a 225-75-15. Have any of us done this in the past? I think it would look slick if my truck and trailer had the same tire with raised white letters. I know I'm in to deep with this one, but I'm a car nut-the kid and old man next door do the fishing, I only keep it in the water and on the roll so thanks for the advise on this one!

Re: Tires

Trailer tires and car tires are different animals, mwagne.

Made in China does not automatically imply low quality, nor does low price.

Use a good trailer tire inflated at the psi stated on the sidewall. Do not use any car tire, no matter who made it.

Re: Tires

There are about 20 threads in this forum dealing with trailer vs ST (Special Trailer) tries and what the differences are. If car tires were acceptable for use on a trailer, trailer tires would never have been designed as nobody would by them.
