Hi. After running my new to me 2009 boat with 3.0 multiple time this year everything has been great except the following.
1st start of day - 1 crank always fires up (classic hissing 5-8 mins)
Engine at full temp - 1 crank fires right up
*Problem* After sitting at anchor for 30 plus minutes Cranks but won't fire unless I give it 1/2 throttle.
-after start if i place in neutral rpms will drop and it will stall
-once up to full temp all is back to normal
So any thoughts? I can live with it as I can let it idle while pulling anchor but a fix would be nice. My thoughts are the idle mixture screw (don't have the tool). But if i mess with this will I cause problems with the cold start or hot starts that work great? Also does this have to be performed in gear on the water to been done 100% correctly? It idles at about 800-850rpm when warm 1000rpm when cold start. It has dieseled a few times when shutting off after running full temp but i usually let it sit and idle so has only done it a few times. Im fairly new to this but have been learning every day. Thanks for any help.
