tn28 again? fixed top spark now bottom spark is too weak

tn28, was having a no spark on top cylinder prob so i went in to coils and found prob with prong corrosion so i fixed both sides , checked and cleaned points. confirmed spark on both and put together enough to get a good pull and now spark on bottom is super weak. yes i confirmed i didnt cross wires. sighhhh.. clean points and check coil again? this side was firing strong.. was running of bottom cylinder very smoothly at low speeds when i was first having the prob..

maybe bad connection where i cleaned and reinstalled the wire to the prong?

Don't guess, test. What are the resistance readings between the plug boot and mag plate? That will be the total resistance of boot spring, wire, prong, and coil secondary, all added together. Should be several k-ohms and fairly equal between both.

i tested earlier and had about 2 on both from plug wire end to ground on coil, but now my multi meter is reading -630 at ol

When you cleaned the points. Did you use a feeler gauge to reset the points or did you just clean the points. If you just cleaned the points then you have to verify with a feeler gauge that they are gapped at 0.020 inches at the top of the points cam lobe. Cleaning them can adjust the points gap, so they have to be recheck and set. You should replace those wires with new 7mm copper core plug wires purchased at Napa or the like. Please don't get the carbon automotive wires.

it was the points im sure.. yes i did set em to .20 and double checkem.. i think one of those gremlins of the night got in there and close one of them.. thats all i can figure lol.. may be fishing after all! KNOCK ON WOOD!
