The boat we bought has removable carpet. Too be honest I think it is a pain in the @$$ to keep clean. It also gets wet and if I don't remove and hang dry it smells musty in the garage. I like the softer feel but I am thinking of replacing with some type of seadek type materal. The deck is stained because of the black on the bottom of the mats. THoughts? Options?

I like my snap in carpet... try getting the carpet steam cleaned to remove anything or grime thats causing the musty smell. Mine doesn't smell at all, you probably have mold in the carpet.

I don't know what sea deck is, but personally, I think carpet belongs in the house, not in the boat. go with vinyl or some other hard surface made for the outdoors.

Amen to that! We ordered some Tuff Coat and going to rip out the carpet of our 92 Sundowner 225. Carpet is trashed and time to replace some of the plywood decking...anyway.
