I have an old boat that the steering is to easy. An old rack and pinion style. There isn't any way to tighten it up on the outboard as I've looked. It is dangerous, a slight movement can turn the wheel! Anyway to tighten it up? Thanks.

When are you having the issue? if you are on a plane does it want to turn one way if you take your hands off the wheel? if so you may need to adjust the torque tab on your cavitation plate to compensate for the prop rotation.

Thanks for the reply. It has super easy steering at all times. You can't remove your hands from the wheel. Super power steering

Somewhere on the pivot point on the motor there is a tension adj. if your motor is an outboard.I had the same problem with my Johnson OB.Found the adj. way up under the powerhead on the back side.
