I took the Sea gem out yesterday she is a 22' Cruisers Barnagat CC weighing about 3800# . With the new SEI drive I can't go up to 3500rpm yet, its still the break-in period but I took down some #'s to check the prop size. The boat has a 383 stroker, the cam specs 1000-5000 with my power curve 302hp 399fp torque at 2500.

Right now I have a 25p SS quick silver on it. Yesterday at 2600RPM I was doing 31mph according to the GPS. I plugged the info into the prop slip calculator and it says I have 26% slippage  , I think I am way over propped. The only other prop I have is a 15 1/4 x 15p that I found stowed in the boat.
Should I toss on the 15p for now at least till after break-in
I"m thinking I should buy a 19p or 21p My other concern is I don't want to tear apart the new drive from to much strain.

EDIT: prior to the SEI drive I had a 1.65 on her and and she seemed pretty good with the 25p Although the drive blew up before I could fully test it

Re: To much prop slip

try trimming down a bit more or borrowing a neighbors prop (86vert) to a 19pitch or a 21 ROCK ON BILL!

ps 4 blade go for it!:p
