You're right... it doesn't! If that was mentioned somewhere above, I've overlooked it.
However...............
The starboard bank, on models equipped with a shift cutout switch, will drop its six cylinders when shifting out of gear. This happens so fast (a fraction of a second) that it is not noticeable and is incorporated into various models to help in shifting to neutral or to the opposite gear. There are some boat/engine/propeller combinations whereas if not for this shift cutout switch, it would be impossible to shift out of gear.
I don’t think the engine cuts out a bank if a low oil condition happens.
