To VRO or Not to VRO

I have a 1983 Johnson 115 with nice compression between 110 and 115 on all 4 cyl. I have been doing a bit of a debate with myself over weather to attempt adding a VRO system if one can be retrofitted or if I should leave well enough alone and keep pre-mixing my fuel. Any input would be greatly appreciated.

I'd leave well enough alone, it's bad enough when you have to deal with VRO problems on a motor that was built with it, let alone trying to make something work on a motor it was never intended to be on.

All but one of my VRO motors have it disconnected either due to past problems or just reliability concerns.
(On mint clean motors which I've owned since new, I generally leave the VRO intact, but on older motors in which I have any concern at all it gets removed).

I agree with reelfishin. I have an 85 'Rude 90hp with the VRO disconnected. Pre-mixing can be a bit of an annoyance at times, but the assurances it gives me knowing my oil and fuel are mixed and I don't have to worry about the VRO not working are worth it.
