Hello all ,<br />After looking at your pictures the boat can be welded with no problem you may want to call around to some local machine shops or sheet metal shops they do the weilding you require.<br />I would not use polyurethane it is hydrophillic it draws in moister and it will probally cause some major anodizing over time.<br />If you lived down my way i would weld it for you for a couple hundred dollars weld only, i don't do carpet

As far as the weld, excellent price, but I think it would be a shorter distance to drive to the Crestliner factory .<br /><br />I was up at the boat yesterday (3hrs up, 3hrs back) to re-assess the hull after the last opinion. There is a belly-down in the hull, and a hook. The thing is I crawled around under the boat measuring flats and curves with an old 3ft Cherrywood level and a dressed 6ft piece of Cedar. I squatted at the front of the boat and looked at each side, left, right, right, left comparing visually.<br /><br />After comparing back and forth, I'd have to say that difference from side-to-side is minimal. There are ripples in the metal on both sides. As for the curvature in the hull I'd have to say it is supposed to be there as it is on both sides. There is a hook but it is only about six inches long and about 3/16 deep in front of the transom, but on the port side, not the damaged side.<br /><br />All-in-all the damage to the hull shape wise, seems to belong to the trailer. It is one of the roller types and the rollers appear to be too few and far apart, for what I would consider proper support. There are depressions in the hull that match well with the roller tracks. There is even a repair weld on the keel that is only a few inches from a roller.<br /><br />At this point we're thinking weld it then take it straight to the bay (before it ices over) and run. Then we'll decide if we want do the other repairs.<br /><br />David

After your comments i looked at the pictures again and i would agree about the roller support system on the trailer you may want to consider a<br />different system if you load and unload the boat alot or trailer down rough roads fix it now and maybe you want have problems elsewhere down the road.<br />And you are welcome on the polyurethane comment where i work we actually process all different types of polyurethane.<br />I wish you the bestest luck on getting your boat fixed.<br />Don't know if i would try it out though if it's that cold there.
