If you are having a liquid of any kind on Saturday February 28th please hoist your glass or bottle and simply say "Here's To You".

Mine will be hoisted twice.

Once for Sgt.Chad Allen killed by a roadside bomb on February 28th,2007 and once again for ALL our killed and wounded.

Here's to hoping the madness will end soon.

While out an about yesterday (after reading the days iboats posts), my BIL and I made a stop at the Veterans garden at the local cemetery. We visited a couple of graves of the fallen that we had known as well as my BIL's brother. After wiping the tears from our eyes, we went home and hoisted a few brews for those that no longer can. We also prayed for those who's lives will never be the same due to their disabilities created from a war.

Bart, we may have not known the man personally, but we do know that he stood for and fought for our freedom and beliefs. May you Sgt Chad Allen rest in peace in the hands of the almighty. God Bless you..................SS

Thank you all for your thoughtful responses.Our troops are in my thoughts every day along with the fond memories of Chad growing up so near to my heart.This is one of those pains that you never learn to live with but you learn to live with as best you can.

Tears filled my eyes as I read the responses but flowed when you spoke directly to me SS.You have my respect and admiration.

Gotta go now.
