Toggle panel out after installing new battery

I own a 2005 240EX Crownline deck boat. Battery went bad, so I replaced it. Now none of the toggle panel controls (blower/bilge pumps/lights/etc) and stereo don’t work; gauges (gas/voltmeter/trim/etc) are fine. Found an inline 5-amp fuse blown on wire coming off positive terminal; 2- and 1- amp fuses were ok. Replaced this fuse…still nothing. All other fuses in engine compartment that I could see/reach were ok. Looked behind console and couldn’t find another fuse to check. I know diagnosing electrical system problems can be tricky, but surely there’s something simple I’m missing. Any help is appreciated! Thanks!

Dig a round a bit in the battery compartment looking for the stray wire you didn’t connect to the new battery.

Will do. I assume it’s going to be one attaching to the positive pole. I attached all wires going to positive pole (except the main battery cable) to the threaded post next to it because I couldn’t even fit a nut onto the main terminal bolt with all three wires there. I assume that shouldn’t make a difference?

I will look, but if I don’t find an unconnected wire, any other suggestions?

Not necessarily. Could be on the ground side.

Shouldn’t matter assuming everything is shiny and tight.

This should be an easy fix. Make sure all the ground wires are attached. Figure out what wire supplies the aux. panel and follow it back to the battery. Guessing it’s one of the wires you connected at the battery.

Don’t assume if the fuse isn’t blown that it’s working. Some types/brands of fuse holders are notorious for going bad over time
