Quick question, Im new to the site and have just bought my first boat.

The outboard that I have is a Tohatsu 50hp 2006 2 stroke (electric start) on a Picton Domino Cabin Cruiser 1989!

Where Im getting confused is the information that I have been given.

Firstly on buying, I was told that as well as the oil that I had to put direct into the outboard I also had to add a 1:100 ratio oil to unleaded to the fuel tank.

Secondly from another source I was told that the oil goes only into the outboard and not into the fuel tank.

Any advice on the correct fuel, oil would be VERY much appreciated

Many thanks
Sam

Re: Tohatsu 2006 2 stroke oil query?

Here is the location for Toahtsu owner's manuals:
http://www.tohatsu.com/tech_info/manuals.html
It will tell you in the manual what the fuel:eek:il ratio is
I'm pretty sure it's a 50:1 mix and it is mixed in the fuel tank.
There are some with a oil mixer system on the engine.
Cannot tell without you posting a model number.

No oil into the fuel tank. Only into the onboard oil tank of the engine.
