think the last post is a bit harsh. i do not understand the term troll. This is a genuine account of the problems I had i am an office worker and do not have a mechanical mind so i can only accuratley recount the symptoms not the causes.

the mechanic explained to me on the phone how to put the engine into diagnostic mode to read the faults pure and simple. that saved him coming to the yard and charging the ?90 call out fee. the lights indicated that the top injector was again faulty and that the third light indicated a severed or faulty wire. therefore we checked the loom and eventually saw the broken wire.

the first injector that broke did let fuel out causing a short two fuses blew. I have no reason to waste my time or money inventing these faults. things happened as described end of story. it is likley the failure in the loom was at the root of my problems. the mechanic came twice and the second injector was changed under warranty from tohatsu Uk in hampshire. I was happy with that service. Why would I want to invent any of this and i am happy for anyone to check with the mechanic who attended to the engine. I do not need to be insulted as a ''Troll'' or any other ghastly or unneccesary American abuse thanks very much.

Troll is a term used to describe someone who creates a thread for the sole purpose of getting attention...I don't think it is applicable in this case, but I'm not tired and cranky or trapped in a hotel room in North Dakota

The fuel causing a short sounds far fetched, but it could happen. You’re lucky the engine didn't explode. Fuel that causes an electrical short is fuel that could have gone boom.....And that might have had ghastly consequences.

I'm proud of myself. I found a way to use ghastly in a sentence

Alrighty, I will extend an apology for my ghastly inappropriate remarks....

Besides, I will cut you a break because I am in a better mood today.

There is still ice covering every body of water in my area....that is enough to make any boater cranky...

Hopefully, they get your TLDI issues sorted out. I cannot ever recall a post here on this forum about a defective TLDI except for the very first ones produced....I remember vaguely a couple of problems with a couple of TLDI's. Compared to any other direct injected 2 stoke outboard (Optipop, FICHT, E-Tec, yada yada) I would say that the reliability of the TLDI has been admirable. Now, there is always the arguement that TLDI's make up a very small fraction of direct injection outboards sold, therefor we don't hear much about their issues....

Usually, when someone with a TLDI has an issue, we usually trace it back to their neglect and lack of maintenance.

Obviously, this is not the case for gazzagary. I wish I could come over and help you fix the darn thing...but, I am afraid that the distance across the pond would make for a ghastly trip.
