It was briefly imported into the U.S. by Nissan Industrial Equipment in the late 80's under the name of Traveler and Tomos. They test marketed them here for six months, then decided that they were not a good choice for the U.S. consumer. I think the factory that built them got zapped in the fighting and was destroyed. I think they still make the scooters at a different plant.

Yugoslavia doesn't exist any more (thank good). Tomos comes from Slovenia. Factory is not destroyed during the war, but they had to declare banckruptcy due to very poor quality of their outbords.Now they produce only scooters and moped under licence of I don't know what italian company.
