Looking for best Tonneau cover. Have always had ARE fiberglass ones but now want one that is secure and not able to be ripped open with a pocket knife. Don't want the metal roll out or the ones that fold down inside the bed. Finding the fold up should work.

Anyone have one of these they like?

I have a soft 3-panel one. So that doesnt pass your criteria

There are so many to chose from. Might go with a cheap one until I find what I'm looking for.

How do the soft folding ones do at highways speeds folded open?

I do like the fiberglass look

I have had Truxedo and am on my second Access roll-up tonneau. They work great. They keep things relatively clean unless you consistently drive on dusty roads. When I load an ATV or snowmobile into the bed, I just roll up the tonneau and snap the strap around it. You get full access to your bed or full coverage.

You mentioned "not able to be ripped open with a pocket knife." This was addressed on one of the RAM forums a few years back because of statements like yours. Nobody, and I mean nobody, was able to personally say that they or someone that they actually know had this happen to them. Not even an internet troll offered up an example. Has it happened in rare circumstances? Probably here and there, but about as much as someone can pry open a fiberglass tanneau or break into a topper.

I keep valuable power tools, my laptop, and other things in there all of the time. I don't keep a briefcase full of cash in there but have never been afraid to keep valuables in the truck bed. That said, be smart about when and where you are when putting any valuables in any part of your vehicle.

Finally got to look at my buddies. He isn't as worried about secure because his bed is full of lockable tool boxes. His cover is a Weather Tech cover and he really likes it. Says the bed stays dry and out of the sunlight and prying eyes. He can use several different configurations for folding it up or back. But Weather Tech is never cheap ...

Never had issues with my ARE.

I put on my dodge in 06, traveled the southeast for 10 plus years never got broken into. Brother still has that truck and never broken into. Almost 20 yea4s.

Weather Tech makes good stuff and USA made, and also Husky makes truck stuff and been USA made for years longer and cost less. There are a lot of vendors out there and even the Mopar one looks good, but Mopar doesn't make there own

Talked today with a guy who had a Retrax powered retractable cover. That was nice because you can stop it where ever you want, not just specific points. Issue is it takes up about a foot of space next to cab but is clear down to the bed

Appreciate all the input guys

Dimondback is nicely made but loosing good access to the front part of the bed is no good. My truck is about 5ft up, can reach over but need a ladder to get to anything else
