Too Hot Merc. O/B Voltage Regulator

I've been running two 12 volt batteries in parallel thinking i would achieve more amps while using my 12 volt minnkota trolling motor. I wired everything to this setup...My voltage regulator did not approve at all....

I just answered your other post. Double posting is a no-no. Yes, the total amp/hr rating is doubled, assuming both batteries are identical, but it does not make your motor any more powerful. It only allows the motor to run longer. Next question -- are you sure you wired the batteries in "parallel" and not "series". People often confuse the two. Parallel results in 12 volts -- series results in 24 volts which would likely fry your regulator.
