That's what I thought until I stepped out on my deck to fire up. Guess I'm a wuss. I love summer, too, but even I have limits.

Grilled lunch for the gang at the office today ... 90? (actually cooler than it has been lately) with 54% humidity and a dew point of almost 70?. I think it might have been cooler on the grill.

Never too hot to grill, but when it gets down below zero sometimes it can be a problem unless you're trying to slow cook something. It is nice to finally have more than 2 days in a row without rain.

Never too hot or cold to grill.......but I cheat.....my Holland grill cooks by time like a oven, so I just put the food on, time it, turn it, take it off. I wait in the house in the nice AC while timing it. The Holland Grill moto, is "if your lookin,it aint cookin".

Re: Too hot to grill

Same for us at the Iowa / Missouri border. I was thinking about getting out on the boat but there is so much garbage (logs and such) floating and the state has issued health warnings for every body of water within a hundred miles so I nixed the idea. On the plus side. maybe the heat will help dry things up.

Sorry to hear about the debris in the water Bubba, I hope it clears up quickly for you. After our January floods here in Queensland, we're at last getting clear blue water, so it can take some time.

Nice try, Iowa...you're still 14% too low on the humidity scale to keep up with us! By the way, not only will we be out on the boat, but we'll be grilling, too!

Re: Too hot to grill

Saw on local NEWS last night that DFW (50 miles East of The Hideout) had the hottest June on record with average daily high of 97 point something degrees and 7 days over 100.

Daytime temps here were consistently 3-5 degrees hotter than DFW and I remember only one day in June that it didn't top 100. Our average high had to be over 100.

We got 2.25" of rain in June.:(

Dear Mother Nature: I promise, cross my heart and hope to die, that I will never again ridicule or make jokes about global (well, at least Hideout) warming if you will, please, please, return us to normal temps.

I really hope that I am not reading this correctly......mid-westerners complaining that it is too hot? After the winter you've had? Sheesh, you people are never happy! :p
