I took my 2004 Yamaha f60 to the shop, should find out what is causing the fuel problems, Thanks for all the replies. Are Yamaha's reliable, or am I going to back at the shop soon after this problem is solved?? Thanks

Re: Took it to the shop

Yamaha did not send it from the factory with a dirty fuel system, trash, debris, and varnish are way outside yamahas control.
the engine is very reliable however its a carbed model and as all 4 strokecarbed models the passages are very small and it takes nothing to clog them.
we just got the E-10 nasty fuel here and are having crazy amounts of fuel system issues that will only get worse.
as a technician there isnt much I can do about it.
have a 10 micron fuel filter installed try to flush all the lines between the tnk and the carbs and pray.
but dirty carbs are never a manufacturer issue, its ALWAYS a customer induced one.
I have 20 gallons of almost real gasoline left in my boat ,next tank will be the E-10 stuff. last 2 tanks I have been running star-tron fuel system cleaner in the hopes I can gently clean the system before using ethanol fuels.
