A picture of my son David. Do you think he was bored to death? He stayed like that for the duration of the ride, 11/2 hour. Nathan stayed on my lap the whole, he was to scared to sit by himself. Oh well...

Won't be long before he's really lovin' it!!! I've got two sons, 3 and 8 years old. The boat is their favorite thing. They love to be on the water. It's my 3 year olds favorite subject. He talks about it every day, throughout the day. Doesn't matter what's going on. He'll walk into a room, and, "Kai go boat?", "Kai drive boat?"

You say he was scared to sit by himself... The picture says otherwise.;) He appears to be right at home, kicked back and relaxed, sleeping out in the open, on his own, leaning into the lull of the doghouse while under way.

Great pics!!! Thanks for sharing.:D

Wish I could get my daughters more excited about the boat. They like it sort of, but usually get bored being in the boat. Unfortunately they're both not fond of tubing either (scared) or just looking around so there isn't much I can do to entice them. They like to swim, that's about it. Kind of boring (for me) to just take the boat out to go swimming 5 mins away from the ramp.

Oh well, I'll keep wearing them down :)

Started my boys when they were 5 and 6, now the 14 YO still loves it, but, I have become an embarassment to my 15 YO :D

Teenagers are all the same. The parents get dumber every day until the kids are about 25.

My kids love the boat (which I'm thankful for). They're teenagers now, but ever since they were about 6 they've gotten to go out. The big key is swimming, and sometimes the boat is just a means to an end - but when they were little we used to get out in some open area without much traffic and they would get to drive. That was a clincher for two out of three ... the third one is easy, she just liked being out.

My son and I have even started talking about building a kit hydroplane in the next year or so.

I'll bet it made a bigger impact than you think. As veritas honus said, you're probably gonna' hear "when can we go on the boat again?" pretty soon.

Nothing makes a tired kid fall asleep like a boat does ;).

None of my kids like the boat more than my youngest, now 5.

He puts his vest on goes down in the cuddy and falls asleep for the first hour or two, but when he wakes up it's hard to keep up with him.

When my oldest was 2 I found goldfish crackers to be the key to a good boating trip. Now we found a lake with unlimited panfish which keeps them entertained for a couple hours. As long as my 7 year old can drive between fishing hot spots I can keep him out there for hours even when fish don't bite. The fishfinder also provides some good entertainment.

They'll get used to it pretty quick. My 2 year old gets scared now and then in waves or swells, but she loves it for the most part. My 6 year old thinks it's a roller coaster. Her new favorite thing is to anchor just off the beach and swim to shore. The best part of that, no sandy mess!
