I am making a sun shade canopy for my boat. I would like to find a material that is light weight yet strong enough to be able to sew velcrow straps on to it to hold it in place on the pvc frame I am using. Waterproof would be okay too. When I am finished it will look about like the canopy on the boat in the movie- The River Rat- with Tommy Lee Jones but without the fancy trim work on the sides. I installed the removable uprights in three positions in the boat so that the sections can be taken down for fishing from the bow or stern. If anybody has made a homemade canopy like this and has any advice on the type of material to use or anything I would like to hear about it. Thanks
