I have a 95 Johnson 130 that has a bit of air in the trim/tilt. What kind of fluid do I use? I read suggestions of everything from 10w-40 motor oil to dextron ATF. which should I use? Do I just remove the cap and fill it to the top or is there a "special trick" to filling the it, like the lower unit? Thanks for the help.

Your T/T unit using the equivalent of power steering fluid.I however, would use nothing but what is specified as T/T fluid from your dealer or boat supply house.Once topped off, operate the T/T to full up and down sveral cycles and recheck level.

thanks ob <br /> should I just fill it to the top of the place where I put the fluid in? I'll go to Boater's World and pick up the correct fluid in the morning. Thanks again

wuzafed...As ob pointed out, cycle the TNT a few times. When you recheck the level, check it with the engine tilted all the way up. Then if needed, top off the reservoir to the bottom of the fill hole.

Thanks OBJ As you pointed out the manual is important. I did not get one when I bought the rig. Any suggestions where I can get one without giving a credit card number over the internet? Do you think local Johnson/evinrude dealer could get me one? Or would it be better to get the shop manual?

wuzafed....take your engine model number to the Johnny/Rude dealer and he can get you a service manual. Do take some time to set and read the beginning sections. It covers engine care and such.
