Well, i'm out of help in the PWC so I,ll try here.
I have a Searayder F16 with the sportjet 120xr.
I just rebuilded the jet pump, new wear ring, new Solas impeller, new ride plate, everything rebuilded according to the Mercury manual.
Top speed of the boat is 38MPH. My jet pump do cavitate when i open it WOT on take off but i think this is more because of the very very tight clearance with the Solas impeller, once the boat moves 4-5km/h it does not cavitate anymore (well, I think, according to my knowledge).
Engine revs 5000RPM WOT, in the manual it says it must rev from 4700RPM to 5300.
is 38MPH the max speed this boat is supposed to do? I've been told these boats with a new pump should do 43-45MPH.
Can I do some minor modifications on my engine to make more powerfull but be careful not to rev it more than 5600RPM so i won't blow it? I didn't do a compression test yet but I'll do it this week.
I love this boat but it grinds me to know that I blow about 17$ of gaz an hour and probably not getting the best performance from it.
