I took the boat out this weekend and started to take on water. Pulled the boat and notice the small boot was almost torn in half. I am mechanically inclined but have never worked on boats much. I have always worked on automobiles and ATV's. I have the manual for the out drive but not sure how hard it is to change the boots. I called around and the best deal I can find is $400 to have them replaced. Is it that hard to change the boots. I have a 140 mercruiser with an alpha 1 outdrive.

Re: Tore boot

If that price includes the bellows it is a very fair price

Re: Tore boot

Just changed the gimbal bearing and all 3 bellows on my Gen 2 Alpha 1, took me 5+ hours, not a lot of fun but doable.
