Have plans to go to the lake this weekend. Upon inspecting the lower unit, found the exhaust bellow to be torn. I normally run my boat for about 1 hour, as we spend most of the day fishing and swimming. I have read some posts where some say it would be fine, as long as it's not the U-joint bellow. Is this correct?

The big bellows (about 6-7" in diameter) is the u-joint bellows, and if it's torn and you put it in the water you're going to be replacing a gimble bearing.

It is not the large one. It is the smaller at bottom..(exhaust bellow) about 3 inches in diameter. The driveshaft bellow id fine.

Yes, the exhaust bellows will not allow any water in...the Gimble and shift-rod bellows will.<br />Wanted to make sure you Identified the correct one...
