I wonder if anyone who boats in the Toronto area can tell me if the any of the "center islands"have transient docking available? We have been there on the ferry but have not noticed if there is public docking where we could tie-up for the day.Thanks.

Star Baby:

I live in Toronto (South Etobicoke) but only boat at the cottage on the Trent.

If you want to boat out to the Islands you need permits. Here is a link:

http://www.torontoport.com/thc/generalinfoP.asp

This has changed recently. It used to be that you needed a completed power squadrons course and other licenses. It is still fairly complex.

If you do go through it, there is transient dockage within the islands. Not at slip per say but along retaining walls.

Great place to go is the "DOCKS". Not a the islands but at cherry street. It is a decadent adult play ground with beautiful women by the pools in european tradition....

Check out the Island Marina very close to the Island airport. I understand they went bankrupt last year and they most likely offer what you need. They have gas, free pump out with $100.00 gas purchase, and a nice cafe patio with food service. I go there alot since my yacht club house burned to the ground 2 weeks ago.....
