Was wondering if anyone can tell me the torque specs and sequence for an '88 4.3 OMC.....I have a manual on the way but I want to get some stuff done while the weather is cooler....

Thanks a lot,
John

IF you have never done this before, you need to understand there is a lot more to it than head torque and sequence. Did you clean the threads and put on the proper sealant? What about torque of other things you have done and need to do, like the intake??????
You need a manual if you don't know everything about what you are doing, or you WILL make mistakes because you didn't know you should have done something.

Don,

Yeah, I am going to get the manual soon....I have been thoroughly researching this as well....have the block prepped, just tapped the head bolt holes with a same size tap, going to use Permatex Aviation on the threads.....cleaned head bolts thoroughly.....

One question, while tapping the bolt holes, on the port side the bottom far left hole went all the way through...didn't bottom.....on the starboard side at the same location, it bottomed.....this is a 4.3 OMC btw.....is this the way it's designed?

Thanks
