I am not familure with a torque wrench that torques to inches - lb I dont own one but I only remember them as ft-lb. Do normal torque wrenches have in-lb as well as ft-lb?

Re: torque to 30 in-lb

Usually you use a torque wrench that measures inch pounds or one that measures foot pounds. I don't recall ever hearing of one that does both.

Think of a 1/4" drive ratchet and a 1/2" drive ratchet. If you want to torque a 5/16" head bolt to 20 inch pounds, it would be difficult to do with a 1/2" drive ratchet.

If you want to torque a 3/4" head bolt to 30 foot pounds. It would be impossible with a 1/4" drive ratchet.

I think maybe I over-thought my response.

The trees must have blocked my view of the forest.
