AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!<br /><br />What a bunch of total incompetent morons.<br /><br />MCI applied my payment to the wrong account number. I called and was transferred a million times to different departments. None of them have a clue as to what the heck is going on. All they want to do is transfer me to another department. Supervisors involved in every thing now and they transfer me.<br /><br />Bottom line is they screwed up and cut off my long distance service. But they cant turn it back on until they get their heads out of their asses and fix the payment problem.<br /><br />You would think they could just turn the phone on, they know the money is there. Nope, gotta fix it first, takes 48 hours to fix, nope thats is 96 hours cause the first time didn't work, and then after the payment posts to your account we can turn on you phone service within 72 hours.<br /><br />Anyway, they have lost a customer for sure. I will be switching to AT&T where I am certain this will never happen (insert sarcasm here cause we all know damn well they are just as bad).<br /><br />Ken

I feel your pain, Ken. My wife handles all the bills (she wanted it that way :) Maybe I should say she feels your pain :D ) and spends an average of six hours of her valuable time each month on the phone trying to get other peoples' screw-ups straightened out. If it ain't one thing, it's another.<br /><br />What really chaps my hide is that no one ever seems to make a mistake in my favor. Why is that?

MCI is no longer !! They're now VerizonBusiness. Atleast thats what they're calling themselves now. Even though I work for em and could get greatly reduced service.....my phone services are through BellSouth and Cingular.

Hey Ken stay where you are. SBC is now ATT and MCI is in the process of merger so stay put you will be in MA-BELL again. :rolleyes:

How is it they can discontinue service at the drop of a pin, but just cannot reinstate it for hours and hours???

They did the same thing to me a few years ago. On top of that they lied about the cost when I signed up. THEN when they re-connected my service they said I couldn't get the same rate plan I had because of the disconnect or something like that. They had called me and offered a low rate per minute, so many free a month, calling card at the same low rate, and cheaper rates starting at 8 or 9 in evening. I never got my free monthly minutes, the rate was higher than quoted and so on.<br />I changed as soon as possible.<br /><br />Even better when I lived in another state one of the long distance companies (I think it was MCI) that was back in 1992 sent me a check as an incentive to sign up. It was around $20. I cashed the check and called them to make the switch. Come to find out they were not vaailable in my area so I never got signed up. They wanted their money back but never got it.

I know how it feels KIZ, I used to live in Las Vegas, the incompetency capital of America. Nobody could get anything right the first time!

I didn't know people still paid for long distance. That's what cell phones and VoIP (voice over internet) are for.

MCI? At least you can talk to REAL people-if you are persistant.<br /><br />Try the government. The government is the single largest employer in the US. Yet, try and talk to someone that will actually HELP you.<br /><br />I don't have the time and they KNOW IT.

I have to have a long distance carrier or else my local phone company charges me more. I think it is a $15 penalty each month if I don't have long distance. <br />I don't use it on my home phone much, I use my cell phone. But when I call my dad he is hard of hearing and my POS cell phone is too quiet for him. When it rains hard our cell service goes down or if I forget to charge my battery then I need it at home.

I DROPPED my home number, much to the chagrin of our local carrier (QWEST). We've gone cellular-totally. Qwest is my local (Cell) carrier, so they couldn't gripe too much-I have four seperate numbers with them.<br /><br />Guess what? No more unwanted calls (US "don't call" list is a sham).<br /><br />As soon as the bloodsuckers figure this out, callng my cell's, they have a serious problem. Cell's cost $$$. Calls going in or out.<br /><br />As much as I hate Liars (lawyers) I'll hire one and WIN.

I've had a Sprint cell phone for the last 7 years. I have always had the same #. If I try to pay my bill with the automated virtual phone rep. "Claire" my payment is always denied. After hours of phone calls I'm always told the same story. "Our records don't match your billing address". Funny, I get their bills, and I haven't moved. No one can seem to fix it.

Wow, that's insane. I dropped my landline service...oh, around six years ago I think. Haven't missed it. Well, I do have to pay $5 extra for the dish bill because of it.

I need long distance for only one thing, international calls. Otherwise I use the cell phone.<br /><br />I just moved about 7 miles away from where I used to. Anything beyond my town of Baytown is now long distance. Wasnt that way before.<br /><br />Thanks for the support guys. Now I am going to call them everyday just for the pur comic relief. I got a snicker out of the girl last night when I asked her if she had the number for AT&T handy.<br /><br />Thanks for the heads up about the megers. But I think I will change to AT&T just out of spite.<br /><br />Ken
