Re: Total rewire

but I agree with Achris. like I said at 75 per hour plus materiels usuall I can buy and install the harness faster than I can make it. but it would not be the first time I cut both ends of the wire in the old harness and ran a new one along side. but in the case of severe corroision or a meltdown I replace the harness if at all possible.

Re: Total rewire

New wiring harness sounds like a good idea. Where would I go to look for one on my late 60's boat though. Sorry probably a stupid question.

You could check out your local Mercruiser dealer, they can get one from Merc.
Here is a link to an online site.
Merc Parts

Re: Total rewire

Thank Don for the link. I noticed when I looked at one for mine. They listed 3 different wiring harness's. I looked under a 153 120Hp,1964-1972. Do they make wiring harness that run from the dash area to the motor on this site they only listed from the motor area. Thanks agin for all the great info.

Here is the link to Mercs, parts express.
Parts Express

Then after you go through the zip code and picking a dealer (it doesn't matter really, just pick one so you can use the catalog)
Then click on ACCESSORIES> then RIGGING> then you have your choice of all kinds of neat stuff along with prices and part numbers.
