Just watch Nanny 911 or Supernanny and you can see the effects of not disiplining your kids.

However, I can tell you that "time outs" can be very effective too.

My 10 yr old son knows if he steps out of line the belt will fly. Have only had to do it a few times, but it works.

I had to give my kids a wack a couple of times when they were young. I used a paddle a little larger then a ping pong paddle. Only had to use it twice. After that they learned. I just had to show it to them and amazingly they would listen.
