what is a good product to remove tree and leaf stains on deck <94 trophy> and nonskid. used pressure washer and soap got some but not the tough ones. can i use bleach?

I don't know about leaf stains, but acetone will take most stains away from gelcoat<br />just a Thought

I would be carefull with the acetone, it will disolve certain resins. I have always had goood results getting tough stains out with LYSOL toilet bowl cleaner. Just brush it on and let it sit for 2-3 minutes and then hose it off.

I have used "Soft-scrub" on the not skid areas, any gel-coat area is a lot of elbo grease,with a mild cleaner/wax.

When I first got my 8 year old bone yard queen, she had some really nasty areas. One day I tried CLR. Wiped down a small area and it seemed like it didn't do anything. Went back out the next day and WOW! It looked great, then I use polishing compound, then Maguires Boat/RV wax. Looks and shines great. But the CLR did the best on removing alot of the stains caused by tree pollen and leaves. Then it was a whole easier to polish. Good luck

i tried a deep cleaning agent today with brush took some but not all. was thinking CLR but didnt know about using on hull. will get some tomorrow. will also try bowel cleaner. will let you know.

Be careful with bowl cleaner...it's main ingredient is muriatic acid, and it will damage the surface of gelcoat....just a Thought

Have 96 Trophy, Someone on this forum about 6 months ago recomended using Castoral SuperClean (purple bottle at Walmart) I put about a quart of that stuff in a sprayer mix with about a gallon of water and spray the who boat down and I mean every thing. Wait ten minutes and hose off. Normally everything will come out brand new tough spots I use straight cleaner and a soft brush. I wax twice a year. Use turttle wax chrome polish on metal and wax. I have only bleached boat once and it worked fine but it is pretty hard on gel-coat so I wouldn't recomend it but once a year.

In this months edition of boating on page 85, there's an article on Tidy Boat Man. <br /><br />The Works toilet bowl cleaner=create 4:1 solution of water and the works. work for water - stained fiber glass hull, plastic cowler of outboard, engine's metal drive shaft housing.-- just spray on and wipe off. you'll be surprised how quickly it works.<br /><br />Lemon Juice - citrus eliminates fishy smells., rinse livewell with alot water, next, pour half bottle of lemon juice concentrate and fill your well with fresh water. Run liquid through the pumps. also use on cutting boards, scrub board with salk, wet towel, rinse with then wipe with lemon juice.<br /><br />dawn dish soap- cut through oil, funk of your bilge water. use alot, foam it up, hose it down, bounce it around, let it set, drive around, it will coagulate, remove chunk by hand, dump or pump it overboard!<br /><br />Lemon spray Pledge- clears up the plexiglass, blurry plastic vinyl on your bimini top. use as many appls as necessary. IT WORKS... beats buying a new bimini top. it is a nice (oxymornon) also helps beads water, spray on, wipe off. now you'll know what yo're really seeing.....<br /><br />easy off oven cleaner- removes painted=on names from your fivberglass. easy off on a rag will remove it faster than you can say.....@#$@#$@#$. wipe away excess, then rinse.<br /><br />coca-cola. battery corrosive stuff. dont forget to rinse.<br /><br />baking soda - BEST CLEANER !!!! for mild corrosion on battery. one part poowder, 3 part water. also a all purpose cleaner. 1/2 cup of baking soda, 1/2 cup of vinegar, and 1 cup ammonia with 1 gallon water warm. pour into spray bottle. work for hullstain, deck stain (leaves) slso genral head cleaning and cabin mildew, stains, waterstain on fabric. <br /><br />I've used FEBREZE odor remover on my cushions in my cuddy. Took it out, cleaned it well, then i sprayed febreze and let it dry...repeated as necessary....and the mildew, old cushion odor was almost gone...<br /><br />threw in car freshener deodorizer, odor eliminator from autozone and the cuddy was nice for the ladies....<br /><br /><br />hope that helps. good luck

I like toilet bowl cleaner, there is a product called wink that is designed to take rust stains out of clothes. whatever you use, don't let it run out your scupers and down the side of your hull. I use bleach, but be careful what you mix it with and make sure it is applied even like. Acetone will soften your paint, great if your painting, to tack your surface, guaranteed to fog shinny paint, I only use it in extreme cleaning emergencys (5200 for example).

over the summer i learned that a 50 /50 mix of bleach &'' simple green'' in a spray bottle is the poop ,,,, an will probably clean that too ... it's hell on fish / fishermen's blood stains an whatever.

Howdy, 2K Boat. Try products with oxalic acid. Muriatic acid is too hazardous.<br /><br />A product called "On and Off" sold at most marinas works well. "Barkeep's Friend" is another.<br /><br />I have found that "ZAP" works best for me. You don't have to mail order it any more. You can get it at Wall Mart. It is recommended for fiberglass.<br /><br />Red sky at night. . .<br />JB

used a foaming hull cleaner from westmarine, as i was scrubbing it didnt seem to be doing the job. then it rained for 2days straight looked at it the 3rd day and to my suprise 98% of the stains were gone only a few shadows. cost $8 and alot of scrubbing. will try fsr on the shadows. thanx

<br />This is at the stern of my boat. I've tried Meguiars boat polish and 3M rubbing compound. They just won't go away.

I still use plain acetone, and maybe wet sand and buff, but then I get paid to do this. just a Thought

Boat Dude, I use an acid based product from West Marine called Hull Cleaner. There are several different brands and manufacterers. You just wipe it on with a sponge and in seconds the stains dissappear. You rinse it thoroughly with water and then be sure to apply wax. It worked wonders on stains I had on my hull from tannin stained waters. No scrubbing was needed and the boat looks like new. Probably the same ingredient in the toilet bowl cleaners.

Got a Montack and I have found that 1/2 cup of bleach and 1 cup of water, mixed with a little elbow grease, will get almost anything off fiberglass...
