How far? I wouldn't for more than just getting here a couple of miles and into storage etc. Also, looks like that trailer is too small, I am guessing not matched to this boat.

Not me. My buddy pulled our 4000# combo with a TB and it did a sufficient job however I wouldn't wanna go too much higher than that.

No way! We have a Trailblazer and bought our 216 Wellcraft specifically because it was the largest boat we could pull and still be within the tow capacity. We're right at 4800lbs fully loaded. That Cris-Craft is probably over 8K lbs.

I'm on my third Trailblazer (for work), they tow small stuff OK, but when you get even close ( many times far less) to the rated tow capacity they can get scary. I wouldn't tow that big of a boat with one.

The only problem I've seen with ours was a bit of trailer sway at 60+mph and that was solved by switching to a stiffer sidewall tire for the TB.

I still wouldn't hook that CC up on bet. No Way! No How!

I have and extended TB and I would agree with everyone else here... no way. I wouldn't go above 5000# gross even for short distances, 4000# short distances maybe. That said, I run about 3200# thirteen hours non-stop, no problem.

Scary was probably the wrong word. The suspension is too soft, the brakes and tires aren't up to it, there's not much extra power and since you have your foot in it the whole time the mileage drops dramatically.

I wouldn't say that they aren't up to it, except for the softness I haven't had a problem.

I drive very conservatively when towing, so I've only had a couple of occasions to really slam on the brakes and combined with the trailer brakes it did fine.

And like I said, I upgraded to higher load rating LT tires in place of the stock passenger tires which helped eliminate alot that softness in the rear end. I have a friend that had an Envoy with the air suspension and he says that makes a big difference too.

I totally agree on the power. The 6 cyl engine is adequate at best for the load I haul and the fuel economy while towing frankly sucks. I wish I had the V8.

As QC pointed out, that trailer does not seem to be the correct one. I bet that would make for very nasty ride (I?m picturing that boat trying to seesaw while being hauled). If it was on the right trailer it would take a 3/4 ton truck minimum.

If your just looking to get it home, then it's doable with some careful driving and planning your route to avoid higher speeds.

I would in no way try to launch that boat with a smaller truck, as mentioned above, that thing is in 3/4 ton territory at the minimum.

If you have to travel a long distance to get it home, I'd consider finding a heavier truck to use.

I just towed a 22' cabin boat home with my Ford Ranger, it did the job just fine but I'd in no way want to take it up to highway speeds with that truck. I only had about 10 miles to go all along back roads with no traffic and I had someone following to make sure no one got too close.
The boat was about triple the rated towing capacity but the truck did just fine moving it. (The alternative was to use a tractor to tow it home but that would have taken far too long and the tractor don't have lights).

There's no doubt in my mind that if I were to try and launch a boat like that with the Ranger, I'd have to brush up on my swimming skills because there's no way the little 4 banger would get enough traction to haul that up a ramp.
It was a matter of take it now or loose it, so away I went. Other wise I'd have gone home to get my 1 ton truck, but there were others chomping at the bit to get it since it was free. The trailer it's on has no brakes either, never did.
