Re: Tow vehicle dilema

Hmmm I've got an older truck in the garage that really hasn't been driven since the fall and I've been thinking how it sure would be cheaper just to have utility trailer. We also have a Jeep GC but the truck tows better. I totally agree on the truck in ice opinions above. When there's snow I take the Jeep. However, when it's icey, I feel much more confident in our '09 Accord.

I towed a 14 ft tin can with an 8 horse with my Dodge Aries 2.2ltr for years without problems. I'd say the Aries worked better on the ramps than my rear wheel drive Ford Sedan with the 5.0, and your Cavalier can only be better than my Aries. If the tranny goes while towing....it was probably going to go anyways, and that would be the equivalent of a couple months car payment to replace.

Don't know how the weights work out but I have seen some "tinnies" mounted upside down to a rack on the tent trailer. outboard in the back of the van.
Just a thought and just my 2 cents. weights and launching thing may not work for you.
