Thanks in advance for the input...

The kids are finally getting old enough for a tow tube. 7 and 5 y/o, I am looking to get a suitable tube to take them for a nice safe, slow ride. Those of you with experience, what size and style tube would work best? I doubt we will be pulling adults, certainly not me. (unless they have a new submarine model designed do go under) Are particular brands better? Where to buy? Does a large tube tend to go airborne w/o sufficient weight?

Thanks,

jocko

Re: Towable Tube for Kids...

Well, I bought a Starfighter from SportsStuff. It was a death trap...liked to dive under water, and with the cockpit you sit in, it was difficult to get out of if it flipped (which it did). I would avoid this model completely. SportsStuff said it was very stable, safe for kids etc...but after it did that to my wife and I there was no way I can recommend it.

I've since gotten an Airhead Slash II. (www.airhead.com) It has an open back for easy entry, room for 2, so my son and i can ride together, and fins which should make it follow the boat pretty well. I'm hopeful this is the one.

get a nice >>>>>SMALL<<<<< Tube!!! if you get a big one you will hate it! small tubes are more fun, cheaper and easy-er to stow!
