I have a Big Bertha (Bertha), but have found that falling out of her can be a pretty sore experience the next few days. I previously had a Rave Razor (Razor) that we liked alot, but the quality was poor on it and we returned a few of them.

I would like a flat deck style that is fairly stable. Any suggestions?

I am also open to new ideas and which towables everyone else likes.

I have the super mable by sportsstuff, its a 3-seater but is available in 1-4 seaters i believe. the thing is like a big platform that slides across the wake nicely but doesnt beat the kids up. extremely stable. It also has 2 tow points so you can change the ride up and keep it interesting. check the waterski section, i think theres a few towable threads in there also.

I with Redone4X4 the mables are great towables. we have a "Mable" and a "Big Mable" the kids love them. My 13 year old said "It's like riding in dad's recliner" they are extremely stable and hard to throw someone off. My kids from 7 to 13 all ride and even will switch from one to the other while underway.

It does look nice. Is the quality good? I have a hard time spending $300 on tube, but am seriously considering it.

The quality of the Mable towables is very good. I have one that is 4 years old and the other is 3 yrs. Never a problem and they are very good for smaller riders. When they aren't being pulled the kids play on them around the dock.

I have a Coleman Missile.
Got it last year right before summer, it was on sale for 99.00. regular 399.00.
Its a 4 person, kind of diamond shaped, one in front, side in the middle and one in the rear. The rear is a lay down and there are inserts for the other seats to make them a lay down too. everyone seems to like it.

the quality is awesome. Its made by Sportsstuff, very reputable company. I got mine used for $200. Well, the guy used it once and sold his boat so i found it on cl dirt cheap. Check ebay maybe for them? it seems all the good stuff is over $300 these days.

The quality is very good. I have pulled the single person "mable" behind a 4 wheeler in the snow. Not a tear, rip or leak.

I grew up with the tractor tube. Holding on was an adventure. I think my dad must have had a big insurance policy on me or something. I did so many flips one time that I riped through the shoulders of a foam ski vest rated at 55MPH impact. What a ride! Don't forget to duct tape the valve stem!

Kite tubes are banned on alot of lakes nowadays, ours included.

As far as flat tubes go, checkout the airhead "slice" and "Mega slice" http://www.amazon.com/Kwik-Tek-Airhead-Inflatable-Towable/dp/B000FE5PJW. We have both a big bertha and a slice and like them both. The big mables look nice too but a little pricey. As long as you have a "good" tube driver you can have fun on any tube and by good i mean nice sharp sweeping turns, always keeping the rope tight, not turning so sharp you put 15ft of slack in the rope and then jerk the peoples arms out of socket.

We currently have the Super Mable by Sportsstuff; has been a good one. Our experiences have been good, as long as the boat operator knows what they are doing - trying to have a good pull, and not focusing on throwing us off with every turn!

We currently use a 6ft diameter 4 man tube. Looking for a new and smaller (2 person) side by side maybe this spring.
We will be keeping away from anything that flies though.:eek:

I wouldn't use one that Flies, to dangerous and too much liablity! I think they have been outlawed at the lakes around me. Skimming accrouss the top of the water is good enought for me and my kids. Good Point Jane driving sensibly always makes for a good ride and maybe keep the kids wanting to keep on playing rather than scaring them to the point of not wanting to do it.
