Re: Towed away

I hate it when municipalities pull stunts like that. If it wasn't causing a traffic jam or completely blocking an emergency access there was no reason to tow the car. Just write up a parking ticket. Same revenue for the city, less cost to the offending parker and no damage to the car.

Re: Towed away

Your truck should be fine.

There is NO reason to think other wise.

I towed for a couple years in S FLA.

They wheel lifted it from the back leaving the front wheels rolling.

It would only be a problem if you had All Wheel Drive because instead of a standard transfer case there would be a center diff.

They never needed to get in the truck either, unless she turned the wheel to one side trying not to get towed and locked the column but then dollies or a flatbed beats all that real quick.

What you are thinking about is that if you tow the truck or car with the drive wheels rolling and the tranny in neutral without the motor running you WILL burn up the tranny.

The tranny pump is turned by the motor not the drive shaft, so turning the wheels doesn't turn it.

I don't really care how slow you go or how short of a distance if the pump isn't pumping fluid through you tranny it's toast.

The opposite is true too. If you have the motor running you can tow that thing across country dragging the drive wheels.

Your fine don't sweat it.
