tower and combo speaker/lights

What do you need to power the Aerial Wakeboarding Tower Combo lightbar and speakers? Will a normal stereo work? Do you have to have an amp? Do you need an additional battery or power source for the lights?

Hey, I got the combo from ebay over the winter, probably the same you are talking about, 2 polk audio speakers with 3 lights packaged by Aerial. You dont need an amp. I use an amp for my 2 subs under my back seat, but I just wired my speakers on the tower with the normal stereo outputs which I think is 52 watts.
You can hear the music very well from the end of an 80' rope, its also nice in the boat because its loud but not overly "burst your ear drums" loud because the sound is projected towards the wake. I currently run 2 speakers in the bow, 2 under the consoles, 2 on the tower and 2 10" subs and its awesome.
You technically dont need another power source but I added a deep cycle battery, mostly for when I am chilling in a bay swimming, or at the beach, this way, i flip the battery switch and just use the deep cycle. That way i know that if I chill for several hours, I will be able to get back in the boat, flip the starting battery switch and go!

Hope that helps, and for the price (300ish), you cant go wrong with the Aerial combo! It fit awesome on my Monster Tower too!

Thanks a lot for the information, what did you do with the lightbar hook up, just connect to the fuse box? Sorry if I sound a little clueless but asking the simple questions now..Anything i missed would be helpful...

I cheated for the lights, I cancelled out the lights that were just under my rear seat, they were never used anyways, and just used that power source and that switch, sorry, i am no help here, i cheated!

Lights are pretty easy. Just a basic wiring project...look at this:

Yep, I suggest a relay too. It doesn't show one on the diagram but it's good to have. You will notice less voltage drop due to a decrease in wire lengths that you have to install if you run only the large gauge wire to the switch as opposed to running a smaller gauge wire from a relay to the switch. The box that the relay comes in usually have pics on how to wire them if you're not sure.

Best advice is to use the right size gauge of wire. Don't buythe cheap stuff. The lights pull alot of watts from the battery so don't skimp with the wire.
