"I'd expect an easy 70 MPH at 7000 with a 19 pitch prop." Are you saying the OP should hit that number with his setup [ if propped out and jacked enough] and his red line is 7g ? Your first paragraph has me scratching my head a bit.I am running a fresh rebuild 78 1500 with new hi-domes and hit 54 gps on a 15' 1966 Power Cat dual tunnel hull that weighs in at 425, me at 190 and two tanks of fuel on a 20" at 6g with the motor raised 1" 1/2 off the 15" transom. Do you have a pad on it ?

HAHA. No. I was saying that the 200 I'm building I will expect 70 MPH at 7000. Yes, Mine is a pad hull.

With the boat he has now I'd expect to see low high 40's at the worst and low 50's at best. With a pad bottom hull probably high 50's or low 60's. If you are only running 54 then you have hull issues, prop issues, or setup issues. With a fresh as fresh can be '73 ( high port ) circle C and low domes I had no problem with 61 GPS but thats all she had in her and I got real bored with that combination when the lower went out.

What boat do you have that you achieved all those numbers with. Sounds like the boat I need :)

I have a 1981 Checkmate Enticer. Been dragging it around since 1981. The Predictor is the same model without the open bow. Look for a "pad" boat. Mine has a minimal pad of 10 or 11 inches wide but its good up until the 70's. "Pad" being a flat section in the middle of the hull on the bottom. Its easier to go fast in a pad boat than in a true V hull.
